Our Story

The JR9 story started like many before.

The prospect of parenthood meant one thing - the start of grassroots football as a parent.

The reality of the matter - As a parent, as someone who loves the game I wanted to do more than just watch from the sideline. There was a desire to give back to the footballing world and my local community that had given me so much in my youth.

So there, our story began. From coaching our local village team from reception into KS2 we built a wonderfully talented squad, winning various tournaments along the way.

At the heart of this journey is Jenson, Who like me in my youth graced the number 9 shirt on his back and since then his brother Albie has followed suit. With that, the name JR9 Academy was born. Jenson has been lucky enough to be a part of other academy set ups and showcased his talents at various pro clubs in recent times (Fulham, Arsenal, Manchester City, Colchester, Crystal Palace & Charlton) whilst also trialling with West Ham & Brighton.

The journey has enabled me to build footballing connections and relationships with parents alike so the time has come for JR9 to start its very own journey to develop and create opportunities for both Grassroot pathways and help showcase your child's talents in talent ID days against other academies and enjoy UK & International tournaments.

I am both excited and anxious for the journey we are embarking on, but I can't wait to meet all our future JR9 budding ballers in the future.
